I don't believe any MSI package can be executed in compatibility mode since it uses the Windows Installer service as the executing context. Typically you can use Orca to remove the launch condition and it work but it was easier for me to just edit the WiX directly and repackage the setup. Earlier versions of the Media Center SDK uses a "bad" default of Vista only. IMHO the check isn't needed since it is also checking for the version of Media Center and in that check it uses Vista or higher.

    mikinho - thanks works great

thread been busy while i was asleep - lol

wondering if this can be tweaked like media browser is?

I posted same on that forum , but they may not want to get into it over there. Would be nice to implement same stark covers and reg tweaks for this program as well.
I don't see the music browser in program files or program data, so i am not sure how to tweak it. At very least a registry tweak to show music browser on front of media center just like the one for MB would be cool.
I will attach that one so someone can look it over and see if it's doable.

Any help appreciated, and thanks for all the responses to original post

    reg file for media browser:

    thanks

I'll send some info on my tool later today, I know I won't be publishing it for at least 2 weeks though.

    thanks mikinho,
I installed your wmc stip menu hider today. Worked great, thanks!
About that Music Browser, it seems there is room for a good one. I was a bit disapointed with Music Browser, after being so impressed with the Media Browser. (I'm new to both products, so that might not be fair.)

Sorry, tried to use the quote button and blew it... but that first line, of my previous post, is a quote from mikinho.

Tyborg has already said he would add a compact disk clear case to Stark Covers, so my question is will music browser show a png? If not, mikinho could you maybe add support for that to you new browser. So we can dress up our music collection the same way as our movie covers. I am so happy some one got this ball rolling!

    Thanks Guys,

PNG support is already done, including the option to do an overlay on existing artwork.

If there is any other features please mention them I'll see what I can do =)

talked with Stark and Felix over 2 weeks ago about new png's - they said they are working on it as well as Mikinho new one. Am sure this will be Mikinho's baby as the other two are busy with media browser. I just been using this png with the stark ui and rename movie.png and run it for my cd covers. I was asking them to make some better ones. Still waiting. CDArtdisplay has a lot of png case covers in it's different skins that can be extracted and used as well.
    media browser music browser thread

someone started another one over there Here in the wrong area so I dont like to respond to it anymore - like to just keep one thread on each forum
