No "play all" button in folders with media

Two computers, both have windows media player, and both have the same files/folder structure. A bunch of music files, assored mp3, wav, midi files. Some have a .doc, .txt, and a few .rars

On one computer, there is a handy "Play All" button that loads media player and all the music files are played.. But on another, that button isn't there at all.

Any idea what the trigger is for it to appear? Really like the idea of not having to manually add every song to a playlist when I get something new.. Never really bothered me until I realized there WAS a play-all button. Now I want it back even though I have never had it before..

    ---
I've looked, and the subfolders in that archive have a play all option, but not the main one.

Hi wkw427, I don't have WM Player as I think its rubbish. If I remember correctly, it depends on which page is being displayed, then there is a 'Shuffle' button to the left of the play button.
p.s. my player of choice is Winamp.

Well, if I have "root folder", with a buch of music, and other folders in it, and "sub folder" with nothing but music, the play all buttion is in the sub folder, but not the root.

Is all your music in one folder then split into sub folders ?

Some of it is in the main folder, some of it is in the folders within the main folder.

On my other computer, the play all button appears and it plays music not only in the main folder, but in all the sub folders

The button is missing because you have a folder highlighted (selected).
Click in a white area in the folder somewhere and the play all button will appear.

    Hi,

Are you able to tell me what occurs when you select all files in the directory, and hit Enter?

The files are added to WMP playlist, as it is the default option. Same as rclicking it

Okay, this helps to isolate the issue.

Do you have any other players installed on the affected machine?
