Windows 7: media browser cant find mkv files

By the way, you don't need to install ffdshow tryouts anymore... you can just install a mkv splitter and maybe a reg for media center to see the mkvs and it works...

Very true but I like the extra options ffdshow gives for audio equalizing and subtitle support.

There is a story behind my avatar (and the one @ The Chrome OS Forums), I'll post it some day.

This is pretty ironic, I see exactly what you went through. This afternoon, came home from work, tried to watch the SAME movie i didn't finish last night and it wouldn't locate it. Going directly to the file and playing it with the default player (BSPlayer) with no luck! Pretty weird eh? I'll mess with it a little, let me know if you figure something out.

You need a util called MKV for Windows 7 (by Divx Project Romulade) DivX Tech Preview: MKV on Windows 7 | DivX Labs - Everywhere Communication Occurs Community Happens as well as the appropriate codecs installed (I used K-lite codec pack 64-bit).
