Not sure why it won't play music.

I have never had a problem with my media center ever, but I decided to install a second hard drive so I can run a Raid 0 setup. After reinstalling the OS and setting the raid 0 configuration and updating and getting anitvirus and all the standard stuff, I started coping all the same music cd's back into it (the same ones that were in it before and never had any problems) but now for some reason it will not play anything out of the Library, I keep getting an audio error message stating that the file is corrupt or in a place that is unavailible. I had a friend come over who is better with comps than I am and double checked me and made sure I had the latest drivers for everything and he downloaded audio codec's because he thought that might have been the problem even though my media center was working fine before without haveing to download any audio codec's, but he did what he could and thought needed to be done and it still will not play albums out of my music library, we have no idea what is wrong and why it is not working now all of a sudden after putting it in raid 0. Any advise or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

You shouldn't need codecs to play mp3 files.

Try playing them with this app and tell me what the result is.
VideoLAN - Official page for VLC media player, the Open Source video framework!

It's completely unrelated to any windows player (most other 3rd party players actually use windows components)
So we can nail down whether there is a problem with the file or with media player.

I don't have problems playing a cd through Media center, my problem is when I rip the cd into media center (like I always have) and then try to play the saved album it gives me the audio error and says that it is corrupt or in a place that is unavailible. I can put a cd in my optical drive and play any cd one at a time from the actually music cd through media center, it just won't play the ripped album in media center, it doesn't make sence. The VLC player you gave me works too, thanks for that.

Have you tried just ripping to a different folder/location on the drive?

Ok figured it out, I feel like and idiot, copy protect was on in media player, once I turned it off and ripped a cd to the music lidrary it plays back fine now with no audio error message. Thank you so much though, I wouldn't have found that if I wasn't going into media player to create a new music folder to rip cd's to like you suggested. Much appreciated.
