Going back to this utility called FixWin, have you really seen or tried all of its fixing tools for Windows Media Player?
It even has a tool for this "Windows Media Player stops responding after you install a third-party product that registers its own version of the Wmp.dll file" problem as well as many other fixings tools for Windows Media Player so if you haven't tried them, please do so. Good luck.

i checked Fixwin out again.There are no fixes that relate to my problem.I also dont like using it.yesterday it went for over an hour and still hadnt put in a restore point so i stopped it and restored to before i installed it.
I clicked on the third party fix under media player and it said it didnt have permission(I was in admin mode)I didnt like the next thinkg that came up saying you can ignore this and continue.
