Recorded TV or Live TV over Network

I spent hours trying to access recorded tv on the main computer with Windows Media Center on another computer. I could find it only with Media Player, but I do not want to use that (no zoom).

How about accessing the TV tuner over the network from Media Center on another Windows 7 computer?

Hi 77777 I think what you want is a HomeGroup:

Homegroup - Add Computer or Join
    Homegroup - Create

Once you have the Homegroup setup, if you then add the files to the Library: Include in library - Add or Remove from Context Menu You should be able to access them from either machine, regardless of where they are actually stored.

As for the Tuner question, I'm afraid I can't help you :)

I setup a homegroup and sought to make the Recorded TV folder available even with a shortcut under media, but still couldn't find it in WMC. All I could find was the sample movie. I keep my Recorded TV on a separate hard drive.

I don't know what an extender is, but seems to me another Windows 7 computer with Media Center on the same networking would be perfect. Seems to me that all Win 7 WMC's on a network should syn, just like DVR's do from room to room. (If WMC can't do that then it must still be in the infancy of developement). Or, do you have to install a remote desktop program like TeamViewer to do it?

That's odd... for me at least, WMC is capable of streaming from whatever Library's I have set up regardless of where they are.

    Just a thought:
On the machine with the Recorded TV folder, first make sure that it is added to a Library: New Library - Create
    Library - Include a Folder

Then go to the Library on the machine where the files are stored, at the top of the Explorer window you will see a drop down menu that says "Share" or "Share with" From there, click "Share with Homegroup"

Sorry I can't provide screenshots at the moment as I'm not at home, if you need some help finding it I'll upload some later though.

Edit: You may also need to tell WMC where the Library is, sometimes it doesn't update itself, look under settings.
