WMP 12 issues

Did some updates the other day and played all my files just fine, and then today I go to play a movie on WMP12 and it refuses to open and load, instead a message bar comes across my screen and says :
"Windows Media Player is not installed properly and must be reinstalled. Do you want to install the Player from the Microsoft Web site?"
I select yes and it takes me to Get Windows Media Player - Microsoft Windows
which shows no clicky to download WMP12, also cant figure out how it got uninstalled because I have never seen it in program unistall area.
In any case, is there a way to get this fixed up?

Yeah i eventually figured it out, typed in the windows features and got it going after putting it not to work. Stragne though that it did this. any idea what causes all these burps?
