    Media Center Recording Fails

I receive a "{Show Title} was not recorded due to an unexpected failure". The errors are logged in the error log. How can I debug this? There isn't much info there (just binary data). It seems to work for a few shows but then fails.

Does every show fail? Or is it certain shows? Certain channels? HD only?

Once it starts failing every show fails until a reboot.

    Great Example:

There was a series finale of supernatural. It was two parts. It recorded the first part fine. It went to switch to the second one and the failure occurred on all 4 tuners (two HVR-1800's - 2 HD, 2 std def). It was down all weekend. When I go to the guide and select anything I get the generic "no tuners available" sort of message.

Do you have the latest driver installed?

Latest drivers, latest windows updates etc. Considering doing a clean install to see if I can diagnose the problem better that way...

It's kind of a hard problem to find the exact solution for.
You can always try removing both cards and placing them back in. Run the tuner setup again.

When I read that you have 2 of the same tuners, I remember someone haing a similar issue with 2 of the same type of tuners. It was as if WMC would get the 2 confused and they would conflict with each other. Try removing one of the tuners for a few days and see if the issues go away.
