Organising Audio files - help needed

Hi guys, I've been away from WMC for a long time, but having now seen it working under W7, I was thinking about trying it again. FYI I've been using the Jriver Media Centre in the meantime.

Apologies if this is basic stuff, and feel free to direct me elsewhere if necessary.

So I've got loads of music, all nicely structured, and tagged. Album Artist tags are all populated, I use "Various Artists" etc for compilations etc.

At first glance WMC seems to use a combination of Album Artist and Artist when building its basic querys. Is there any way of having separate querys for each of them. When I'm browsing, its bad enough having to go through 800 genuine Album Artists without a few thousand Artists appearing as well.....

Can the WMC querys be modified in any way, or should I be looking at some sort of plug-in? I've had a bit of a look round but most of what I've seen seems to focus on Video/Movies organisation.

Any recommendations on the audio side?

    Thanks
