    Screenshots in Windows Media Center?

    Hey guys...

I have a picture I'm trying to make my wallpaper but when I scale or fit it with desktop personilization it cuts off an important part of it or it doesn't cover the whole screen.

I want to take a full screen shot in Windows Media Center but whenever I take the screenshot I just get a black screen and not the screen shot.

    I found this....

Windows 7 Media Center – How to Take Screenshots « PricklyTech

So it seems it may be a bug or something and I'm not the only one with the problem.

I followed those steps and added what they told me to with Regedit but it still didn't work for me. The author in the article says to "restart" media center does that just mean to close the program and open it again? I tried that and it still didn't work.

Can anyone help me with taking screenshots in Windows Media Center?

    :)

I know you're not trying to post a screenshot, but using the snippet tool along with paint may get you closer to your results.

Try all of the steps again but when it come to the restart, do the following.

    1. Hit Ctrl+Shift+Esc to open Task Manager.
    2. Click on the Processes tab.
    3. There should be a process called ehshell.exe; if not, just look in the Description filter for Windows Media Center.
    4. Right click the process and from the menu that drops down, click End process as well as in the Warning window that pops up.

Then restart the program and try again.

Also, is there any reason you can't just use the PrtScn function on your keyboard or even the Snipping Tool?

I just tried that and it still didn't work for me.

If I use the PrtScn or Snipping Tool stuff in the photo still gets cut off.

Its kind of a weird photo because the subject isn't centered in the photo. One of the things I like about the Windows Media Center slideshow is that it will make the picture cover the whole screen while still after a fiew seconds watching the slideshow it will show the far left of the photo while still being in full screen which gives me the opportunity to get the whole subject in the photo without something being cut out...if that makes sense

When I use the "fill" option on desktop personilization important stuff ont he sides of the photo are cut out but when I use the "fit" option I get the whole photo but the bottom and top of my screen are just black as the picture doesn't fit the whole screen.

Is there a program in Windows 7 that will make it possible to stretch the photo so it covers the full screen of my laptop but I can still crop the photo so what I want to be on the side of it still is in? Thats all I want.

    Thanks for the help!

If you right click the image and go to Open with and the click on Microsoft Office 20** (assuming you have Microsoft Office) you can edit the pictures easily there.
