You can do a copy things.

1- Modify the existing Start Menu shortcut by Right Click - Properties - Replace the target

2- Copy the existing Start Menu shortcut (copy\paste) and then modify.

3- If you want have Media Center startup at loggon just create a new REG_EXPAND_SZ registry entry under

    [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run]

Name: Doesn't matter, I use MediaCenter
    Data: %SystemRoot%\ehome\ehshell.exe /homepage:VideoFullscreen.xml /PushStartPage:True

yeah if you know the app id and the entry points, you can create a short cut to make MCE open directly to what you want.

You can also make a shortcut for entrypoints/appid's that you want to open.

So, example, you want to open MediaBrowser right away, open that shortcut, and viola.

Windows Media Center - Command Line Switches (eg open directly to TV) - Tech Support Guy Forums

For Windows 7 you HAVE TO include the entrypoint and app guidID.
