windows 7 pro 32bit 3.8 score :(

If you like stereo sound get a card with stereo.. I sadly bought a cheaper card which turned out to be mono but I don't mind it too much. Also check to see if you have digital cable or just analog cable.. I accidently bought a usb digital tuner but found out I had analog cable.. so keep that in mind too.

Also remember card can take in video cables from av units such as a PS2 or a digital camera or something of that nature, so you can view more than just cable tv on your pc.

I have installed my TV Tuner card and it works great with Media Center and Win7.
If you are able to get HD out of the wall without a cable box I'd suggest a good monitor. I have a Samsung 2333 running at 1920 x1080 and it is amazing to watch HD TV.
Oh I have the following TV Tuner card
Hauppauge WinTV HVR-1250 Hybrid TV Tuner PCI-Express x1 Interface about $59
Also have a good size HD 500 Gb or more to record and save the shows.

Hope this helps.

mustangman16,

I just reviewed your 'My System Specs' (all posters should before giving advise):

'200G 7200RPM SATA Hard Drive Free Fall Sensor' is your Hard drive spec?

If so, I suggest this will fill up quickly as a recorded movie is about 9 GB and a Sports Events can be 12-15 GB.

As your Dell XPS M1530 laptop is not a top performer, has limited expansion options, and basic consumer laptops are not really designed for media rich appications such as WMC Recorded TV, your results may not be as desirable as perceived. That bing said, with a USB TV Tuner, you may yield an acceptable experience with Recorded TV playing on your laptop's sceen.

The hardware requirements for an HTPC are higher than those of a basic laptop in general, specifically for HD TV and even more specifically for the TV you want to push TV to, like a large screen TV.
