thanks lee, no i hadn't tried revo as i thought i couldnt find the different registry components etc.
in programs and features there is only the option to repair win7codecs, the uninstaller is in the sharks package itself, under help tab.
if it is possible i will use revo, but i think if shark007 sees this thread then he can tell me whats what.

On the Startmenu | All Programs | Shark007 Codecs, is an uninstall shortcut
In the Settings Application, on the Help TAB, is a button to uninstall.
You also need Admin privileges to perform the uninstall.

Your screenshots seem to suggest the uninstaller is broken somehow.
In this case, I would suggest that you delete the unins000 files,
re-install the x64 Components and then uninstall using a method suggested above.

Using Revo would be a BAD idea. Using Revo could actually leave you broken.
It has no idea what settings my app has changed in your system.
Using a proper uninstall method reverts your system to a pre-install state.

thanks shark, that solved it, a re-install gave me a dat file numbered 001 so i was able to uninstall no problem.
now i have thumbnails showing for both avi and mkv.
i saved the sharks setting from the previous install, how do i get those settings back?

The save/restore settings feature is not fully functional.

I suggest you use the SUGGESTED settings checkbox.
It covers most popular formats for trouble-free playback in the Windows players.
