Windows Media Center Live Tv--No video, audio only for ATSC channels

Using a Hauppauge 2250, trying to play OTA ATSC local channels thru WMC, I setup everything and go to FOX or CBS and only get a black screen with audio.

I try the same thing with a trial of Sage tv and it works fine. Would rather not pay for Sage and just use Media Center.

Tried many different things already, reset Media Center and tried to install some additional codecs. Anyone have this?

    Thanks.

sounds like you have a nvidia driver issue. are you using 285.62.
if you are either rollback the driver or install the 285.79 beta driver.

Thanks for the reply. I hope you are right. I am using whatever driver Nvidia issues that is current for my card, I will have to check when I get home. I guess the beta driver isnt automatically downloaded because its "beta"?

I had the same issue, updating to beta driver at the moment.. Edit* Successful fix!

For those who do not know how to update to nvidia beta drivers
Open the Nvidia control panel in bottom right corner, click check for updates
Go to the preferences tab and tick "include beta updates"
Then go back to the updates tab and check for update and download etc

    Thank you!

I registered just to say Thank you! This was excellent information. It didn't dawn on me to try the video card drivers simply because everything else video related including web video and broadcast TV from the WinTV software was working. Media Center just would't cooperate.

    285.79 works like a charm.

    Take care.

I have a similar problem. I have switched from XP to Win7 and I couldn't get my old TV Tuner software that came with the card to work under Win7x64. I tried some other software but all I got was channels and sound. Searching the net I found out that WMC offers Live TV option as well. So I set up everything and I got the same result. I get sound and even get TTX, but no video. I had 290.53 beta driver installed so I reverted to 285.79 as suggested here to no avail. I even tried the last offical driver 285.62 just so I can say I did, and it was still the same.

I'm getting a bit desperate now as I've been dealing with this issue for a week now and I still don't have TV set up. Anybody have any other ideas? Is there no hope?

BTW I have a LiveView FlyDVB Trio card and have analog cable TV. Everything worked fine up to a week ago on my Win XP 32bit system.

Thanks @rustberger, your fix worked perfect. Now on 290.53.
The strange part is that everything was working fine two days ago.
