Windows 7, Cinergy 2400DT and Live TV

    Hi Guys

new to this forum, looks useful and I am hoping you can help!

I have installed Windows 7 onto the following system

    ABit IP35 Pro motherboard
    Nvidia Geforce 8800 GTX OC
    8Gb RAM
    Intel Quad Core 6600
    1Tb disk
Cinergy 2400DT tuner / WinTV Nova 500 (installed one at a time for elimination purposes)
    various other standard peripherals

install is fine, the only strange issue is that when I come to use Media Center to tune the TV signal (Freeview Digital) MC reports there is no valid TV signal. This problem is repeated with the WIN TV card.

I have checked the signal on a TV, there is one! and I have gone back to Vista and checked the signal and it is fine in VMC.

I would also like to point out that I have another PC, specs are: -

    Fatal1ty 190HD motherboard
    1Tb Disks
    4gb RAM
    Intel Quad Core 6600
Blackgold BGT 3540 (connected to Freeview and DVB-S (Sky))

and on this one the TV signal is fine including HD, they are both in the same house on the same TV Signal so I am a bit stuck as to how this is happening and I wondered if anyone haf any thoughts!

By the way guys as a tip for starters, DO NOT try and get the BGT card if you have them working with Bgb RAM it will not play TV, I have discovered this after two days of elimination!!

so I am wondering if anyone has this kit in any configuration and if you have it working?

any help I can give on my rigs I would be happy to help

    regards

    Kerry

    Terratec

Hi I am using the Terratec Cinergy Card and it is working OK in my HTPC. I do have a specialised DVB-T aerial though.

I must say that I also have one in my 'business' pc a foot away from the HTPC and this doesn't pick up a signal.

Good question. Looking on the technet 7 forum and from one experience I had I don't think that I do have both working. On the one time i tried to record and watch TV it complained saying all tuners were busy, this seems to be echoed on the technet 7 forum by several users using the Terratec Cinergy card.
