How to differentiate in Media Center between TV Seasons and Movies

so here is my setup, I have over 300 movies on external 4tb server. On this server i have a share called Movies. This is where all my movies are. Also in this share is a folder titled TV. In this folder i have 5 different TV shows and all complete seasons. Example TV -> BIG Bang Theory -> Season 1 -> appropriate media files, and so forth.

My widows Media Center ask me where all my movies are in setup and I select the appropriate source Z:\Movies.

    My Issue:

When I open Media Center and select Movies everything comes up. Movies are displayed like they should be, but my television series are displayed for each episode, which in turn makes my library huge. Now if in media center I select TV, it will show the TV series correctly, One title cover per season.

I do not want the series showing up in my "Movie" section as individual files but as a whole season. Hope this makes sense.

I have even tried to use the application "My Movies" and it is the same issue.

I'm not sure if my file structure is wrong or what I am doing wrong.
    Thanks,

Is TV a subfolder of Movies? It sounds like it! Move to its own parent folder and let us know how that goes! It sounds like you also prefer that TV series only appear under TV???

NOTE - You will have to use Tasks --> Settings --> Media Libraries to point Recorded TV and set.

okay i will try these out.

Just to clarify though, this is not recorded tv, they are rips of dvds of the seasons. the main thing I don't want is each episode to show up as its own title in the Movie section

    I understand... I think.

Where exactly did you see the Episodes as you want them displayed? You are speaking of Win7 WMC, right? This is the TV menu you were referring to, right?

i am at work so i cant grab a screenshot, but yes mine looks like that. I just wanted to clarify that it wasnt the tv option that connected tv through your tv card on your pc.

as a workaround you could have your movies folder displaying in the movies section on the menu and have the tv series displaying in the videos section of the menu.

yes but how? when you go through media setup all it ask is the locations your media is in, it doesn't give you the option to have that media go to certain location.
