Picture, Videos, Music menus are painfully slow

    I have just built a new machine i5 4gb 2 x 3tb WD ASUS p8z68 motherboard..

    System works beautifully.. very nice.

    However,

I have just installed a clean activated real copy of windows 7 home premium and when I enter the menus of Media Center

Pictures, Videos the blue "thinking" ring scrolls for 10 seconds and then enters the next menu with the Folder being displayed.

In the music section, I have 2 test folders in there and it waits for 8 seconds after you press play a song!

recorded tv and guide work great.

    Indexing was also completed.

    Any ideas???

    Thanks

    Ok... Found fix

I was installing windows 7 in Uefi mode and it appears as though this
Was slowing down the pc or media center in particular.

I attempted a dozen install attempts and I got the same results.
    Slow and unstable.

I finally did another reinstall and chose non uefi from the boot
Menu, installed all the same way, same drivers... Everything the same.

    Media center ROCKS!!

So fast and stable, it's not even funny!

So in my story... I dont like uefi... I've lost too much sleep
And I'm happy it's all done!!

    Anyone else experience this?

Thanks for telling us how you solved the problem. These are the most practical threads where the OP solves his own problem without guru intervention - LOL.

Hahah thanks... Sounds like a weird problem though hey? I'd love
To hear what others have to say about this still.. I hate problems that come
Up like this and the problem is solved by frustration and doesnt quite
Make sense why it was fixed
