Cant setup live TV

HI, I have just upgraded my HP MC from Vista to Windows 7 Ultimate with a clean install. When I run the Live TV setup, Im able to go through all the steps including selecting the set top box and channel changing speed etc. However, when I get to the very last step where it aks me to confirm the signals to be configured with, I select next and get the follwoing error " TV Setup has encountered a serious problem, select finish to exit and try again. If the problem pesists, restart MC or the computer. I have tried this but to no avail.

Any ideas please? TX

I am now receiving the error you described. After comcast moved some stations around i tried to re-setup my media center tv tuner (hauppauge 2550). Now it says "tv setuo cannot continie. TV setuo has encountered a serious problem.

How did you fix yours?

I'd had it working perfectly well for a year when I needed to rescan; and got the same error. Googling, I found this problem is all over the place. I could only find one thread where there was a solution, which I used, and it worked perfectly.
Here's what I did:
1. Under Control Panel; Programs; Turn Windows features on or off: turn off Windows Media Center in the Media Features folder
2. Restart
3. Delete C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\eHome\mcepg2-0.db and C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\eHome\mcepg2-1.db (I have two tuners)
4. Delete the folders C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\eHome\mcepg2-0 and C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\eHome\mcepg2-1 (again, two tuners)
5. Restart (probably not necessary, but I did it anyway to be on the safe side)
6. Turn on Windows Media Center again in Control Panel
7. Restart (again probably not necessary, but it felt best that way)
8. WMC TV Scan
Problem gone.
