Hi everyone, what do I need to install to get my xbox 360 extender to be able to fast forward and rewind my mp4 files?
You cannot change how MP4 is handled by the xbox but there is a solution.
All you need to do is change the MP4's into MKV's. There is a very simple way to do this.
On my Tools page is a software called Metafox. It can process a single file, or an entire folder.
Just drag n drop your mp4 to the installed Metafox desktop icon - it begins processing immediately.
It can use almost any file as the source.
It extracts the audio/video components and places them. untouched, into an MKV.
Here is instruction on how to get proper playback of the MKV file on the Xbox360
Thanks Shark. A bit too much time consumption to convert over to a different format.
Oddly enough I recall that entering numbers into the xbox remote control at one point was working at skipping to X minutes. Say 10 or so.
Hi everyone I wanted to share this. If you are playing an mp4 via your xbox 360 and you need to fast foward or rewind, the xbox only jumps in 30 sec increments if u hit fast forward or rewind and when pressed and held down it just skips to the end of the video.
A fix or way to advance in a movie is to press the number pad on your xbox remote say 10 + the play button. This will take you to 10 minutes into the movie. Finally a fix and work around I should say to moving around a movie.
This works for .mp4 movies and most likely other movie formats as well.
