MKV not using .sub file, Shark codec WMC

    Hi I'm on a Win7 HomePremium x64, and have installed Shark007's Win7CodecPack and the x64 components.

In Windows Media Center, I can't get the sub titles to show on my mkv files, but they seem to work fine in VLC.

    Steps I've taken:

    • Made sure the .srt file is in the same directory as the video
    • Made sure they are named the same
    • Searched through this board to try what Shark had recommended to others (Go to SWAP in x64 app, Disable Windows Media Foundation, Disable Microsoft's Video Recorder, etc)

Still no luck. Hopefully I don't have to do a clean format to get this working. Any help would be appreciated.

You can use mkvtoolnix (mmg GUI) to mux in the sub file by dragging in its idx file. You may be able to directly mux the srt also.

press [Reset All] in the 64bit app
On the H264 TAB, select the Microsoft decdoer.
