Xbox 360 Media Center
Hey, so ive been reading through the different problems with connecting your Xbox 360 to your PC, and have tried all the solutions posted previously with none of them working.
So my set up is i have 2 computers, 1 laptop, 1 desktop, 1 xbox, 1 router.
My xbox is wired to my router, and everything is wireless.
My desktop is windows 7 RC1, and laptop is windows XP, with WMP11.
I got my xbox to work with my laptop, im able to play files off my laptop to my xbox. But for my desktop it is not working.
Ive tried to setup windows media center, i got the 8 digit code but everytime i enter it - it says it cannot find the extender because of network or firewall issues.
So i tried all the regular steps. Allowing the programs to pass through the firewall, enabling the ports, disabling my router firewall, disabling my desktop firewall.
I have a belkin router, and i only have windows firewall, although i do have microsoft security essentials - but i have also disabled that and it still does not work.
I tried opening services and starting the windows media player network sharing service.
None of these steps worked, as I am still not able to 'find' the extender. However, when i go to my Network screen, i see my xbox 360 as being in my network. I also have enabled media sharing through my WMP12, and allowed my xbox 360.
Any help would be appreciated,
Thanks!
