    Windows media player not working

I'm soooo frustrated right now. After regular updates, everything on my notebook seems to be going on the fritz.

The finger print reader that came with the notebook no longer functions and I'm being told it's just not compatible with the newer versions of everything.

Now my media players are not working. I've looked at those updates and still nothing works. Why?

Please help me to understand how to get this working again. I can't afford to bring my notebook in and leave it somewhere for a week. I work with it every day.

    Please help.

    Here is a start

Type "msdt.exe -id WindowsMediaPlayerConfigurationDiagnostic" in the start search box for a trouble shooter. (no quotes included) Try this may not work.
Also here is a link to MS for the media player "fixit".

Fix Windows Media Player video, and other media or library issues

Forget msdt.exe to use it you need MS password!!

Backup and complete a clean install. This would be the easiest and least frustrating way.

Hey guys, Yeah im kind of new to the forum here but im not new for win7

anyways, i dont know why but since the last update my wmplayer wouldn't work just like that
i dont know why... i click on the icon and nothing happens

anyways, i did what hammerhead said, which is getting that (fixit) program, it did not do anything but reseting wmplayer to defaults, although i did not play with the settings xD

anyways, i tried to run wmplayer again, and it worked but like when u first time run it after u install the windows

    Thanks for reading!:) peace out
