    Windows Media Center 64bit corrupt recording


    Hi, I am using a Peak dual DVB-T tuner card with Windows Media Center 64bit. I receive my digital TV signal from an attic aerial. My problem is that I get corruption on video and audio while recording with WMC. The video corruption is hard to describe but looks like vertical streaks down the TV screen making programs impossible to watch. The corruption does not happen all the time, but usually starts after 30-40 minutes into a show. I have checked aerial connections etc and have recently reloaded windows 7, but with no improvement.

    I have no problems whatsoever while veiwing normal TV or internet TV etc on just the TV itself.

    I haven't filled in system specs in my profile as I have 3 different PC setups and wanted to try get some help asap, (this is my first post).

    The problem occurs on a HTPC with an Asus HD55M-pro motherboard, an Intel I3-530 processor, 4Gb ram and a Samsung F3 1TB with a partition for system and the rest of drive for storage. This is using Intel intregrated HD graphics on the CPU cabled to a Sony LCD TV via HDMI lead.

    I had originally been using a Hauppauge dual DVB-T card and this recording problem started so I changed it for the Peak card.

    I had read somewhere that a video refresh rate change of 59-60Hz may have caused problems in American made TV shows but I can't find the info now.

    I have tried various remedies and have searched forums for similar problems but have not found anyone with an identical problem.

    I would really appreciate any help with this problem or if anyone could suggest software that could be used to analyze a section of one of my WTV files where this corruption is happening, that may be a way of finding a fix also.

    Any suggestions appreciated and I can supply any more info if needed.

    I found a reference on another forum to a setting in Intel HD graphics setup. Advanced/Media/Image Enhancement, Noise reduction. I unticked "Override application setting".

    I haven't tested enough yet but there might be an improvement, or maybe it's just that the problem was intermittant and the HTPC is having one of it's good days.

    Does anyone know what this setting actually does or if it could have an effect.

Media center records fine except on HD channels where I think the data rate overwhelms the system. Unfortunately media center defaults to recording HD if it can. Is there anywhere to globally change all recordings to to SD rather than HD ?
