Libraries folders somehow messed up and having trouble fixing.

Ok, I'm going to try and make this sound intelligible.

    1. I have 1 user on this computer with admin rights. Windows 7 Enterprise Edition.

    2. Watch movies and tv shows from saved libraries streamed to my 360 via Media Center. Was watching movies less than 1 hour prior to whatever happened.

    3. Planning on getting a hard drive this week and in preparation copied roughly 75 gigs worth of movies to thumbdrives.

    4. After cutting and pasting and filling my thumbdrives opened media player on 360. Opened fine, selected movie library, then was DC'd "Your xbox has been disconnected from windows media center unexpectedly"

5 Tried opening windows media center on computer. Opens fine then crashes at exactly same spot after selecting movies or videos.

6 Reset the media center databases. Same crashes occur.

7 Spent next several days in frustration leading to almost reinstalling my windows 7 EXCEPT I decided to take one more look at it. I have probably 16+ hours of reinstalling software and recovering files if I do that. And right now I just can't afford to do it.

Which leads me to where I'm at right now. Somehow I seem to have been added onto a HOMEGROUP in networks, then doing a little more searching found my videos that had seemed to not be around, then found that the permissions were completely screwy on that folder and other folders inside my c:\users\accountname\ leading to a total missing shared video folder inside my videos folder.

OK. I've managed to get to a point where I have saved my videos, saved my work files, saved my photos. Without reinstalling windows how can I remake those folders? I attempted the whole right click on libraries and recreate default folders but there are no shared folders inside. Is there more to it than that?

Will check back often to see if we can get this hammered out somehow. Thanks in advance for reading the Great Wall O' Text and giving thought to my problem

    Victor

Well, Finally got the dvd to install over the old install. Just one of the pitfalls of using testing software that you can't repair it. However came through with no loss of my pictures or data
