yeah I wouldn't THINK that moving it to the living room would make much of a difference. But I guess you could try it. I'm not quite sure how comcast works as I have Charter, but all of my CLEAR QAM (emphasis on clear) are below 30 and all HD above 30 requires a cable card connection (which Charter just freakin broke). Currently I can't think of what else could be happening, but I'll keep thinking about it. Good Luck!

robshah2 - if it makes you feel any better, I am having the same problem as you. It sees the QAM tuner and does the scan, but it doesn't find any channels. At this point I have reinstalled Windows 7 four times and tried all that I can think of with no luck.

ARGuck - are you running 32-bit or 64-bit? I am on 32-bit so I was wondering if maybe the 1600 only works on 64-bit for some reason. I have been doing my testing on an old P4 system that I had lying around so I can't put 64-bit on it, but I may try it on my 64-bit AMD based HTPC if I have time this weekend.

If anyone has any other ideas I would be glad to try them and report back the results.

    Thanks!

I heard somewhere that there is possibility of adding those channel manually, and I am going to explore that options..

I got it my working yesterday. It was scanning without any channels being added, but I went to the Windows 7/Media Center/Setup/Guide/ and either modify channels, and all of them were there.

I had to name then to appropriate, and now I have PBS,FOX,CBS,NBC and CBS in HD.

I now have to worry about how to get the Guide being updated for those channels, and I am in business.

    Thanks for everyone's help here.

Sounds like you guys got it working! Good to hear!

KCFandCJ, I'll answer your question for the benefit of others who might visit this forum. I've tried all of the initial instructions from the beginning of this forum on both 64-bit and 32-bit. Works on both.

Now if I could just make my blu-ray drive work on 64-bit

Hello new to the Forum so I figured I would add my little issue to this forum since my tuner card is a HVR1800 and the problem I am having is the Media center works great and then all of a sudden I start to get a sound issue and then the sound and picture seam to go out of sync. I change the station and go back to the one i was watching and it perfect and this some time happens every 10 minutes and others it lasts for hours before i have an issue any ideas with what the problem could be, plus i have did all the newest drives and troubleshooting for the tuner card and sound card. Thanks in advance

Hmm I haven't encountered that but I was having any A sound issue.

I have 7.1 surround connected to the computer so I told W7MC that I had 7.1 and the sound got all garbled so I set it to 5.1 and it went back to normal. Did you try switching surround settings at all?
