movie section on 7 media center "not all movies are sho

    hello everyone,
I have a variety of movies file formats (avi, mp4, mkv and dvds) the problem comes when i go to the movie section on 7 media center; when i press "movies" and it says looking for movies... the first movies that will appear will be the DVDs and some of the AVIs and MP4 so then i go back to the main menu and press again "movies" after it said looking for movies... some but not all the movies will come up (but dvds will always come up) it is getting frustrated that i can not see the hole collection, some times most movies (almost all) will come up.
does any one has the same problem? if yes, there is a fix?
oh, my movies are all in a shared folder on the network.
    any help will be great

    thanks,

    movies

You can see your entire collection by accessing video library in Pictures + Videos, not movies in MCE. Make sure that you have set up your video libraries ie folders in Manage Library options.

Seems crazy to me that Movies option doesn't display all movies as you would logically think but c'est la vie

Hi kernelm, welcome to the forums.

I have noticed the same behaviour in 7MC, I sometimes have to let it do it's thing (about 1 minute) and it will eventually display all your movies.

    Hope this helps :)

The movies library in Windows 7MC is really a feature for people with badly organised media libraies. Windows does its best to determine what is a movie but it will always miss stuff & include TV shows & other types of video. Keep your media libraies in order. I would suggest creating folders within "My Videos" i.e. "Movies SD" Movies "HD", Television "SD" etc. Media centre will see these folders when you enter video library not movie library.

Don't you mean: - i.e. "Movies SD" "Movies HD", "Television SD" etc and not i.e. "Movies SD" Movies "HD", Television "SD" etc (haven't organised your quotes, you must be people with badly organised quotes) - lol

On a more practical note I have just transferred one of my HDDs to my 'media' computer and when I banged it in all of a sudden the Movies section in MC sprung into life and is now showing not only the movies on the transferred HDD but all my existing movies from the long time resident HDD. Strange
