Windows 7: Need to cycle NIC every time to get XBOX to connect to Media Center

Need to cycle NIC every time to get XBOX to connect to Media Center

I have a weird issue that I'm trying to work out that now spans two computers (original didn't have any issues, swapped out to new build which eventually died anyway, then went to old build).

When I want to use my XBOX 360 Slim as an extender, I have to cycle the NIC on the Media Center computer. As soon as it's cycled, the extender connects. Once it connects, it will be great until the session disconnects, then I have to do it again.

My original and now current build (worked great for years but moved and decided to merge and make one good machine, which failed due to motherboard appears to have given out):
Asus P5K Deluxe
- Using Marvel NIC, not the RealTek NIC
Intel Q9550
EVGA nVidia 560 Ti
Ceton PCIe
Asus Xonar Xense

The only change that stayed was the PSU and case.

As far as difference from move is network changed:
Original: XBOX -> switch -> router -> switch -> Media Center
New: XBOX -> router -> Media Center

I'm open to thoughts and ideas.

Nevermind. After working with it, figured out problem is my router doesn't seem to properly allow UPnP through it even though both devices are connected to LAN ports. Router is Netgear N600 or WNDR3700v2 with latest firmware. Adding a switch in and connecting the two together resolved the problem.
