    Ripping in HDCD

Hello all and a Happy New Year to everyone.
I have alot of cds that are recorded in HDCD. I would like to back these up on my computer and if needed burn them to a new cd. Is there a plugin or a way to do this and preserve the HDCD capabilities. If I'm not mistaken regular windows media player will not do this. Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks :)

    Happy New Year

The few HDCDs I have were ripped on an older XP system that I still have running but I think the HD was probably lost during the ripping - using Windows Media Player at 320 Kb. Seemed to be some of the older CDs I bought.

Perhaps someone will come up with a solution though?

Are these factory CDs and what format are they now in?

I own them and would like to back them up in case of breakage etc.

No problem, I was trying to understand HDCD. I have read that is is a recording method, now owned by MS, that attempted to make "better than CD quality audio" and discontinued ~2008.

I found this CUETools wiki which is supposed to do it. Use the links on the left to find out more. :)
