Media Browser Is Causing 100% Activty % on my SSD

I have Media Browser installed on a Crucial V4 30GB SSD drive next to Windows 7 Enterprise 64 (11GB free on the SSD at the moment). Movies are on a 2TB internal HDD. When I open Media Browser from within WMC I get a lot of lag before it'll let me navigate around or display images. While its doing this the disk activity LED on my case lights up continuously.

If I open Windows Resource Monitor (resmon) while its doing this I can see that my SSD is at 100% Activity and that windows is working with a whole load of odd named files like \dfsdf36shd43gf53kshgdfkasgkjs8gdhhd in the Media Browser folder.

Can anyone suggest what might be going on and how I can fix it? The lag is completely ruining the experience.

The PC its running on is my old gaming PC, so specs are OK - Intel Q6600 quad core CPU, 6GB of RAM, ATI 5850 GPU, Blackgold Quad TV tuner ect...

    Thanks

    100thIdiot,

That happens on the start up and should drop back down, especially after it is first installed.

Also 30 gig SSD is very small for what you are trying to do.

Do you have all the Windows Updates including SP-1 installed?

Here we go, SP1 is installed and MB has been installed for some time so I would assume its already done whatever it needs to do to at startup. It definately seems to be disk related, the processor doesn't seem to be unduly stressed.

Also, my last drive was a very old 20GB HDD and that seemed to work fine. I thought the SSD would be a nice cheap upgrade (£34).

You have some files mismatched. I have called for help back at the ranch. Won't be long.

The file mismatches here merely indicate that the WAT update isn't installed - there's nothing wrong with the MGADiag that I can see.

I'm a bit lost with the last couple of replies. Have we eliminated some potential issue with Windows?

It just means there is no problem with the licence. Perhaps the activity is related to indexing? Does it settle down after a while?
