You can add album art through the WMP 12 interface. Simply open Windows Media Player and located the file you want to add art to and drag and drop the artwork file from your hard drive onto the album art square next to the file.

Alternatively you can right-click the album art square and go to "Find Album Info" and Media Player will attempt to locate information including album art for your file.

Try right-clicking inside your music folder inside windows explorer and clicking "customize.."

Then set the contents of that folder to Music and include all subfolders.

no i'm talking about the icon of the mp3 file itself, although it appears with an art in WMP but it appears without it inside windows explorer.
and thanks for the Englishman tip

ok, try this. Launch Windows Media Player then right-click at the top or bottom areas to bring up the menu. Then navigate to "Tools > Apply Media Information Changes". I think it should save the info from WMP to the files at that point.

Was just wondering whether or not you sorted this?

If you are in to tagging then I use a very good bit of software called mp3tag you can download it here. This will sort your problem out.

It looks like the songs without the album art have not recognised the album art save/associtaion, try associating this again either through wmp (looking at wmp12 not sure how you now do this in Win7, used to be advanced tag editor?!) or you can use the mp3tag bit of software.

    more general info here
