Two WMCs will not display the same channel - HDHomeRun app and TV will

I recently moved and am deploying my WMC setups to collect OTA HDTV in College Station, TX. One is using a HDHomeRun the other has 2 HVR-2250 Cards.

I cleared out the old channels/guide on one WMCs, and the other is a new setup. Did Live-TV setup on both WMC, and they both configure and are able to successfully display the OTA stations in the area, EXCEPT one. Station 23 KAGS-LD has 23.1, 23.2, 23.3 and 23.4. WMC shows green on both the HDHomeRun WMC and the HVR-2250 WMC. If I use a TV or the HDHomeRun Config GUI I can get the channel.

If I use the HDHomeRun GUI I can see the WMC change channels on the HDHomeRun. When 23.1 is selected, the signal/quality/symbol strength/quality are all green. but WMC show service is unavailable. If I click view on the HDHomeRun GUI that is showing the channel selected by WMC it will show the channel on the HDHomeRun app (after overriding the busy tuner).

I found posts of similar issues where hitting record would activate the channel. This does not work for me.

I found posts of similar issues that could be traced to WMC having multiple possible sources for the given channel in the guide. Task->Settings->TV->Guide->Edit Channels->23.1->Edit Source Shows 2 entries; one for each HDHomeRun Tuner: Both show channel 23.1 with 100% quality. So this does not work for me.

Can anyone out there help get me pointed in the right direction on getting WMC to display 23.1?

    Thanks in advance.

Check tvfool.com to see if the problem channel is being transmitted by two different transmitters. Sometimes, a station will have a repeater and media center will select the weaker transmitter as a higher priority.

If that is the case, then you can edit sources on the problem pc to move the correct channel to the top of the priority list, and/or disable the weak channel.

If this doesn't help you, go post at thegreenbutton.tv for more help.

Thanks for the suggestion... I had looked in the sources and there was only one per channel.

SiliconDust was extremely helpful on this issue. They had me download a low level recording of the channel in question. Using it, they were able to determine that the broadcaster had some of their equipment misconfigured and that was confusing WMC. SiliconDust sent the station director an email notifying them of the issue, and the station apparently made the required changes. The next day WMC started working on that channel with no changes on my end.

    THANKS A BUNCH SILICONDUST!!!

PSIP problems seem to happen to people occasionally. I've read a few threads where a TV station had something configured incorrectly, and all have managed to get the station to correct it.
