WMP12 and pop-up alert

Why is it that every time I open WMP12 I get a pop-up alert asking me if I allow this program to make changes to my computer? When I click "yes" everything works fine: single file play, playlist, dvd, rip, etc.

Thanks in advance for any help getting rid of this annoyance.

looks like you have it set to run as admin,
selecting the properties of the wmp exe and clicking the compatability mode , uncheck the run as admin box and see if that works ,
if not you could try running this fix-it.

Thank you very much for your imput.
i. I do not have the WMP set to run as administrator; and
ii. I downloaded the fix you suggested and ran it, rebooted, and I get the same result.
iii. I just downloaded WinAmp 5.622 and it works like a charm.
