Media Center: On screen functions either hang or not show.

While watching a video on Media Center at random times the functions (start, stop and pause etc) either will not appear on screen or they hang on screen but will not work. I have no tv tuner card installed and rarely watch dvd's. This happens when watching video files from my videos folder. I have tried updating drivers, codecs, shutting down other programs even turning off then on in windows features. Never happened on Vista only since I bought Windows 7. Sometimes while watching same video nothing happens and all is fine. Completely random to non tech savy guy. Would love some help on this please.

    Thanks.

Do you still require assistance with this issue?

    1. Did you do a FULL Win7 install or did you upgrade to Win7?

    2. Try booting into the Safe mode. Do you have the same problem?

I upgraded from Vista. It doesn't always happen. Sometimes weeks go by and it doesn't do it then out of no where it starts again. I will try it in safe mode and let you know how things go. May have to leave it in safe mode all day or longer as like I said it is intermittent.

Hello. Tried the scannow and will have to wait untill/if it happens again. Although one thing is when I restarted my pc I couldn't use my custom installed themes. Windows was stuck in classic. Only the original windows 7 theme worked. So did system restore. I have media portal now so will use that instead of media center and think I'll leave this issue as unsolved. Many thanks for you're help though.
