ok i did what you said and it made me restart and took about 20 minutes to turn off window media player and window media center. ok now when i start up and click on window media center it says.
the item ehsell.exe that this shortcut refers to has been changed or moved so this shortcut will no longer work properly.

Have you checked your application log for errors? Also, want security software do you have running if any?

One more thing, go to Control Panel\Programs\Default Programs. Hit "Set program access and computer default" Expand whatever you have selected and ensure "Enable access to this program" is checked next to Media Center
