Media player permanently turns off screensaver

    Hey,

I know that Windows Media Player/Center are supposed to disable the screensaver while I'm watching something, but for some reason, the screensaver is not being re-enabled when I'm done. This is also happening when I watch video on the Internet. It happened in Build 7232 and now again in the final. Any ideas why Windows is failing to re-enable the screensaver when I'm done watching my video?

No, not really. When you close the WMC, check that it isn't appearing to be gone but actually hanging by looking in task manager to see if it is actually closed when as think it is.

It definitely isn't hanging, because I can restart the computer and the screensaver will still be off. Is there a way to prevent WMC from deactivating the screensaver in the first place?

    Hi.
I had the same problem for the x64 system.
Just disable Windows Media Player Network Sharing Services and restart the PC. This way you will notice that WMP disappears from the Task Manager and there is no item left in WMP list.
