Skip forward and back buttons don't work on remote

I am using a Logitech Harmony 650 remote that I have used with another Media Center PC. All buttons work on the other PC, but the skip buttons don't work with the new PC. The skip buttons allow me to jump 30 seconds forward per press or approximately 7 seconds back and are very nice to use for those pesky ads. I have a WMC remote and the skip buttons don't do anything on this PC either. I installed Windows on both systems and don't remember anywhere that I choose an assignment for the skip function!

Also, the skip functions work with the on-screen controls via my mouse! Now if I can just get the remote to work.

I looked at “HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Media Center\Settings\VideoSettings” and SkipAheadInterval is 29000, and InstantReplayInterval is 7000

For the record, I saw a similar thread but there was no solution posted and it was over 1300 days ago.

    Thanks for the help.

Case solved! My HTPC case has a front LCD and built in IR receiver. I disabled the internal IR and installed the IR receiver on my Hauppauge external cable card tuner. Now all works fine.
