    Windows Media Center 2 Tuners

MS insist that 2 tuners let you watch 1 channel and record another. Not here, it doesn't. I get dragged off the channel I'm watching to the channel I'm taping, and it won't let me record two different programmes at the same time. WMC reports '2 tuners' quite happily. Dongles feeding desktop: Hauppage WinTV-HVR 900, and an August DVB T205. Help?

1st question, do you have an aerial plugged it both tuners? Can you check the signal strengths of the signals in both tuners? I have a PC with 2 tuners and it works flawlessly.

Hi. yes, via an aerial amplifier. I'm afraid I don't know how to check the strength of the signal.

You could R click a channel in epg, edit channel, edit sources and make sure you are tuning to the correct transmitters. After a retune I sometimes have to do this because I can pick up weak signals from adjacent areas - see pic. In my case the correct freq is @ 100%, and distant ones 60% or less.

you can also change the priority of tuners or even assign a specific tuner to a channel
