    MTV files to MPG

I noticed the files that are recorded by MC7 are mtv. Can these be edited with VideoReDo? If not how can i edit the files?

    Thanks

    Don't know.

Better to capture with something like iuVCR to .avi format using huffy codec.

Would actually be better I think to stay with BTV as the recording are MPG. MC looks great but when you get under the hood it shows it's true microsoft head. screw with things and change things just so they work with their software. That may not be the case as I am new to MC but it's looking like that is how it is.

You can use iuVCR to capture to MPEG or MPEG-2 with ffdshow.

Can you please explain. Are you talking about the conversion of the mtv files MC7 produces to MPEG or are you talking about eliminating MC7 and using iuVCR stand alone to record (capture) the programing I want to record?

    Thanks

Yeah, I'm suggesting to at least give the software iuVCR a try. I'm almost sure there is a free trial for it.

I'd direct you better with your current method of use, but don't use myself so I can't really do that.

If it's something else to buy I don't think I will give it a try. I already have BTV that works fine for what I want. I was just hoping to transition from BTV to MC7 as MC7 seems to be a bit more robust than BTV, but if WC7 will not fit the hole, so to speak, that BTV leaves behind I will stick with BTV.

But thanks for your help and input.

Not sure what MTV files are, but here is a nice thread on WTV file conversion to the old DVR-MS format.

    Windows Mediacenter wtv file extension
