    Media Centre setup trouble

    Hi all,
    I'm new to this forum, have been a lurker ... gleening information when I had issues (old hardware) with 7 RC which I am using now.

    The problem I'm having with MC is that I cant get MC to recognise my QAM signal on my Hauppauge HVR-1250.... my cable provider shows up, but no qam signal Is an option during the setup process.

    Tried running through setup many times using differant approaches .. to no avail ..

    But when I select a diffent location (NY) other than my own (Ontario) the setup offers to scan for signals (QAM and analog) from the cable provider I selected..

    I setup Wintv7 just to test and It pulls in the signals no problem... not what I want to use though (no EPG).

    Can anyone help with some suggestions.

    Thanks for any help..

    Qam = usa

    Quadrature Amplitude Modulation (QAM) is the digital cable standard in the United States. Windows Media Center supports QAM signals with a Digital Cable Tuner in the United States.

    ATSC. Advanced Television Systems Committee (ATSC) is the group that helped to develop the new digital TV standard for the United States, although Canada, Mexico, and Korea have also adopted this standard. It is intended to produce widescreen 16:9 images up to 1920 × 1080 pixels in size—more than six times the display resolution of the earlier standard. Currently, Windows Media Center supports ATSC in the United States and Korea only.
