Changing TV channels skips channel after re-running WMC setup

This is frustrating. Suddenly I stopped getting OTA TV program guide updates, and found out there's a new provider, and that some areas of the country haven't been upgraded properly. I followed a suggestion to re-run the WMC setup, and input a different zip code that was close to mine.

That got my program guide working again, but now when I'm changing channels, channel 2.1 is skipped when I back up from 4.1 and I end up on the OTA channel 58.4 locally.

    Forwards works fine... 58.1 > 2.1 > 4.1. But to back up from 4.1 to 2.1 now I have to 4.1 > 58.1 > 2.1.

I can't find any information on this in the forums here or on the net. Has anyone seen this glich, and maybe has a solution?

    Thanks
    TS

    Similar here.
One day all guide data was gone?

So ended up redoing TV setup. I notice channel 13 is missing, so added it back in manually. Then noticed channel 10 is showing channel 33!
So all screwed up AND going down from 3.2 bumps to 2.3 skips 3.1
But going up from 2.3 goes to 3.1

So setup TV again, this fixed all the channels EXCEPT it still skips from 3.2 to 2.3 going down, but is ok from 2.3 to 3.1

I have fooled with the settings several times and I'm still having problems with some channels. Either I can't them, the sound is garbled, or the TV guide is messed up. I can't help but wonder if MS is doing this with the intent to drive people away from WMC.
