Is there a WMC replacement with the all functionality for win10

There are a few features that I just can't give up at the mo in Windows Media Centre, but probably not the ones you think.

Format stretching, I watch a lot of old 4x3 tv + zoomed movies. I only have a 27 inch monitor in the evenings I sit 10 feet away, so the 3 zoom/stretch settings makes a huge difference.

Needs to be organised by file structure, 100000+ vid's just appearing in one big list is just no good.

Big navigation I have a Logitech K400 where I sit in the evening which allows me to easily navigate in Windows Media Centre even when I'm sat quite a Distance away.

Play all button would be nice to have, I like to browse to a particular season of a series and just watch it all "helps me sleep a night"

    +Finally full codec support

I got a g-sync monitor with only one port so no plug in an Xbox for me.

I'm so happy with the media centre setup, it just does exactly what I needed to. I'm desperately looking for a way to carry this functionality through to Windows 10 if pos?

    Thanks for looking.

Not yet. Silicon Dust is working on one for use with its external tuners (a beta has been released to people who contributed to the kick starter fund) but I don't know if it will work with any other tuners.

Many people use Kodi but it's generally considered harder to use and may lack a few features. I don't know if it will work with Win 10 or not.

The lack of a suitable replacement for WMC is one of several reasons I'm staying with Win 7 and eschewing Win 10.

I think a lot depends on what you use Media Center for, I used it for the Live TV tuner part and found SichboPVR a decent replacement but if you are using it as a movie server etc then Kodi is worth a look.

If using a Silicon Dust tuner, they have their own live TV viewer that is a bit easier to use than WMC's.

The live TV viewer also integrates very well in KODI. It lacks one big thing though, that is recording. Which is very important. Probably the most important thing for any TV viewer these days.

Well this proves you can't have a conversation about media centre without discussing encrypted live TV.

Unfortunately, I don't want it for the functionality most people do, thanks for the responses anyway.

Okay thats cool cause all of the responses about the live TV options made me think that was an implied requirement at well lol. I am actually somewhat new to WMC and have always used MediaPortal. You have probably never heard of it cause for some reason when I bring it up nobody ever has, though I don't know why. It does actually have a TV-server that I recently tried to utilize when I bought my HDHomeRun about 9 months ago, but after a month or 2 of pulling my hair out trying to get them to work together I gave up and decided to give WMC a try......which of course had my live TV up and running perfectly in like 20 minutes. I am still using MePo for all of my archived media though, as that is where I am finding WMC to be finicky. As time goes by I am getting WMC to recognize more an more of my media and I hope to get it to eventually display it like MePo does so I can just run one....but its a pain in the butt lol. Since you do not use live TV tho, this may be perfect for you like it was for me for so many years.

There are many zoom settings, detailed here:

Needs to be organised by file structure, 100000+ vid's just appearing in one big list is just no good.
Mine are all seperated by type, and I use plugins such as Moving Films for movies and MP-TV Series for TV. These each display my collection with beautiful fan art backdrops metadata info, and synopsis; MP-TV Series Organizes by Series > Season > Episode. There is also a videos section, and that DOES just list files for that folder, but I just use it for misc. stuff like musuc videos random collection shorts etal

Big navigation I have a Logitech K400 where I sit in the evening which allows me to easily navigate in Windows Media Centre even when I'm sat quite a Distance away.
I don't know what "Big navigation" is but but aside from mouse and keyboard navigation (both have full functionality) I also have a Logitech Harmony 650 I bought and programmed specifically for MediaPortal (and use it with WMC as well)

Play all button would be nice to have, I like to browse to a particular season of a series and just watch it all "helps me sleep a night"
Dunno about this option as I would never use it, wouldn't be surprised if it was available tho

    +Finally full codec support
    Yup

I got a g-sync monitor with only one port so no plug in an Xbox for me.
Is this a requirement? Its unclear. If you are saying you do not have any of the usual MC extenders and not to suggest anything that would utilize one, I don't have any either and haven't run into any issues

I cannot speak from personal experience since I run Win7, but it seems from the forums to work on Win8 and here is a discussion about Win10:

One other thing I thing I would mention is that unlike WMC , MePo has a configuration screen that can be pretty extensive. This may make you crazy, but I prefer it. The fact that I don't really have that option (or the one I have is very limited) drives me crazy lol

Anyways hope that help, Aside from the one thing you said you don't care about anyways, I LOVE this setup and works great
