    CD or DVD cannot be played by double click

    Hi, guys.
    When i double click the dvd drive, i get the message "This file dose not have a program associated with it for performing the action..."

    If right click the drive and choose " Open Autoplay...", it works well.

    Go to Control panel> Default Programs > Set default programs .... and select windows media player, choose defaults for this program . If the file type contained in the dvd is unchecked in the list, check it .

    You may go to change autoplay settings, too .... change the autoplay option of DVD video to your desired program .

    This is no dvd file type in the list. I do have changed the autoplay option of DVD video. Autoplay works well, but neither the "Play" option nor double click.

    I'm having the same problems. DVD's play fine when I insert them, but if I stop viewing them and try opening them, I get the error unless I use AutoPlay.
    There is no way to set a default program for the DVD that I have found yet.
    Any solutions?

    Finally, I found a solution.
    win+R -> regedit ->
    HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT -> DVD -> shell -> play -> command

    View the link. https://picasaweb.google.com/1041586...97565579304114

    Also works for Windows 10

    Upgrading to Windows 10 broke the double-click option for DVDs, and this fixed it. Thanks!
