Streaming to Xbox 360

I'm streaming videos from my PC using Windows Media Center to my Xbox 360 via network cable. My Xbox has perfect signal and connection, however, when ever a movie has an explosion, the best part, it lags and is choppy.

Could it be my system? Software config? Help me watch things go boom!

My system specs below, more than needed but its a text file I made a while ago...

I would try using just (2) Crossfire supported ATI Radeon cards on this mobo on the PCI-x16 slots, one for each monitor if supported.

GIGABYTE - Product - Motherboard - Overview - GA-EX38-DS4

I would try using just one type of drive, not a RAID array, multiple IDE drives and multiple USB drives. BTW, IDE drives will probably be a bottleneck on a gaming or advanced system. I also have not used RAID since XP.

Which supported Q6600 CPU are you using (and which BIOS)?

GIGABYTE - Support&Download - Motherboard - CPU Support List - GA-EX38-DS4

I would think that DDR2 1200 RAM would work best with your mobo. What speed is it running at, 400 or 266?

Any heat issues? Ample Power Supply?

Anyone of these issues could cause a system slowdown at peek.

You can review the troubleshooter and performance events.

I assume the XBOX has all it's updates.

What and how are you outputting the video from the Xbox and to what TV/Device?

Windows 7 Professional 64-bit (6.1, Build 7600)

I only have 1 card, I'm not sure why Everest thinks it has 3, maybe because it has so many outputs.

I have a RAID because my system is installed on 2 Western Digital Raid Edition 500GB SATA Drives in mirroring mode RAID 1

My CPU Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 Kentsfield 2.4GHz LGA 775 Quad-Core Processor Model BX80562Q6600

My RAM G.SKILL 8GB (4 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 1000 (PC2 8000) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model F2-8000CL5D-4GBPQ, It's running at 400.

Not heat issues. My mobo is at 110 my cpu is around 90 and my hard drives are also around 90.

Power - Thermaltake W0116RU 750W

Yes, the XBOX is up to date and used on Xbox Live weekly. My Xbox is using component to my HD TV.

I would use RAID 0....RAID 1 is great for having a working disk in the event of a failure of one disk, but is a heavy load on the system particularly with heavy processes such as AV processing of large files such as Recorded see this, watch performance in the performance monitor when outputting to the Xbox.

If you choose to use RAID 0, remember that changing it in the BIOS or RAID setup will likely cause you to lose all data on the disks.

I would not even use RAID. You can still use your RAID controller, just don't set up an array.

To keep your files safe, I would setup a minimal size partition on disk 0 partition 0 for the system files (OS), and then use disk 0 part 1 for recorded TV and other large files, and use disk 1 as your backup media and backup to it nightly.
Can you use HDMI out to your TV (which is not available on older XBOX's)? It will give the best results. HDMI carries both Audio and Video uncompressed signals from the Xbox to your TV, reducing the amount of work the Xbox does to output the signal.,2845,2344698,00.asp

Now as for your system Temps: it seems odd that your Mobo temp would be higher than your CPU temp (and I assume your temps are in F) - This is likely due to an air duct that takes in external air directly to the CPU fan, but the rest of system is not cooling well.
