Windows 7 Media Center, dual USB receiver DVB-T2 and DVB-T problem

Using Windows 7 Media Center with dual USB receivers, one a DVB-T2 and DVB-T. WMC sees both.

The DVB-T2 receiver gets HDTV (720), the DVB-T only gets SD. When I plug in ONLY the DVB-T2 I get HDTV. When I plug in the second receiver, I can only get SDTV.

It seems WMC gives priority to the DVB-T receiver.

Is there any way to manually control which receiver is used for scanning?

I gather I'd prevent WMC from rescanning once I plug in the DVB-T, but I haven't been able to.

You can change the tuner priority on a per channel basis by going - EPG, R-click channel, edit channel, edit sources - then clicking the up/down arrows marked in this screenshot



Tuners are used top down. If you receive a lot of HD channels, this could take a while. I'm in the UK and only about 9 stations are HD + SD. I don't know of a way to set tuner priority for WMC 'in one go'.

Thank you wasnotwas. I will try this. I ended up removing the DVB-T receiver only going with the T2 (Hauppage PCTV 292e), because I was recording TV and losing the HD. The 292e has been acting a little wonky, such as when selecting channels with the +/i in while watching live TV, sometimes it drops the non HD channels and only shows the HD channels as available. If I go back to the programming the SD channels show. Perhaps that has to do with my removal of the T receiver.

If you mean removing one tuner unit after scanning and setup etc, I haven't tried that - sounds like it might cause problems. I have always used dual or quad internal cards. Currently in my Win7 pc I'm using a TBS 6205 quad - about £175 UK.

Not sure if relevant, but I had real issues trying to mix DVB-S & DVB-S2 tuners in WMC. Ended-up ditching the DVB-S tuner. As wasnotwas says, you would definitely have to re-run TV Setup when changing tuners.
