Media Center Search shows wrong number of days for guide

Windows 7 Ultimate x64 Media Center works fine except:

1 When I enter the guide search, the number of days for which the guide is available is something like 299. I suspect that this is because the system recently lost its time and date in the BIOS due to a main power failure. Does anyone know where this number of days is stored and whether it is possible to reset it?

2 I have two AVerMedia A16A/A16AR PCI Hybrid DVB-T cards installed in the custom-built rig. When I first load the system, log in, then load Media Center, load the guide and select a programme from any channel, I receive a message telling me that there is no signal for the chosen channel. If I cancel the message and tune into the same channel again, I receive the same message. If I then select a different channel it works fine. If I then go back to the first channel I chose, that works fine as well. Does anyone know why the channel will not tune in first time?

I have deliberately refused the free upgrade to Windows 10 on both this system and an HP laptop on which I also run Windows 7 with Media Center because Microsoft has not made Media Center available on Windows 10 and the reports of attempts to load Media Center on Windows 10 unofficially suggest it is problematic, not least beccause Microsoft has, reportedly, issued a Windows 10 update to remove it.

I have looked at alternatives, including Kodi and found nothing that comes close to the functionality and ease of use of Media Center.
