    TVtuner disappears from MCE

I ran 32-bit Win7 RC1 on my system for a number of months with zero problems. I just recently installed a Retail copy of Win7 Pro 64-bit and things continued to work fine for a week or two until Windows Media Center just stopped recognizing my tuner card. I wiped the whole thing and reinstalled but the problem repeated. My AverMedia tuner is on the Win7 list and has 64 bit drivers.

When I go to LiveTV it says:
"No tuner available to satisfy the current request"

When I try to add a tuner in MCE it get the message:
    "TV Setup Cannot Continue
Some MCE services have stopped working. Select Finish to exit, restart the MCE services and restart TV setup."

Windows Media Center Scheduler Service is on.
When I try to start Windows Media Center Receiver Service I get the error "Error 0x80070015: The device is not ready."

The device manager shows the tuner is installed.

    Any ideas?!

Install the drivers from the manufactuer for the tuner and see if the issue goes away...

Windows Update may be providing a faulty driver

I did download and install the latest 64-bit specific drivers from the AVerMedia website, but still no luck.

It is weird that it would work for a week and then suddenly stop. I thought it might be the result of some other software but during that good week I left it alone so it was just recording TV.

This is very frustrating. So I reinstalled Win7Pro this time the 32-bit and MCE's tuner function only worked for 2 days (similar to my 64-bit installs). As I mentioned before the Win7_RC1 version worked perfectly for months on this exact same hardware! I am almost out of ideas.

You might want to check to see if the TV tuner is failing.

I'd probably try and remove, then replace the card, just in case it was dislodged somehow... if that doesn't fix it:
Was it running ok in Vista right up until you installed W7? if so,
Have you added any additional hardware? if so,
Can you disconnect a few components (fans, DVD drives etc.) to check if it still doesn't work? if it does,
Then it could be your power supply
    if it doesn't,
see if you can check it in another computer
