    - iTunes maybe
    - WMP classic
    - WMP (what's wrong with it besides the toolbar not being present anymore)
    - foobar2000 if you don't have a life and want to spend time customising it

    VLC is nice (small and plays almost anything including DVD's etc) as has been previously suggested.

    However you could try Media Monkey -- looks good too and have good reports about it.

    I haven't myself actually tried it on W7. Works fine on VISTA and XP so it probably will work.
