I'm game for trying others. I heard TMT had issues with certain BD audio format's. Not sure how/what, but that's the "vibe" I got from other forums. Plus, either it or WinDVD didn't do BDLive.

Sony does BluRay as does Windows 7:

Your BluRay Player should ship with the required software to play Bluray.
I have not experienced any problems with TMT or with PowerDVD nor WinDVD10 Pro for that matter.
A licensed codec is not illegal if done so in your country - it can get complicated due to current law..in the USA, downloading illegal softare from other countries is at best frowned upon and can lead to both civil and criminal penalties...the reverse is more likely to occur, ie, third world countries stealing our technology.
just try k lite mega codec pack with media player classic installed!!!
it works for sure!!!
I don't make law but am familar with it.
Developing these technologies costs a lot of money. I have no problem at all paying for software, movies, music, hardware. I do have a problem with people taking technology, pretending it's theirs, sharing it, and causing me to pay more as a result.
