Number of rows showing on the "thumbnail wall"

My boss has a new touchscreen computer with Windows 7 and Media Center.

Photos are loaded. He wants to be able to have one LONG row of photos that he can scroll back and forth horizontally by flicking his finger on the screen (like his phone).

If there are six pictures in a folder, I get one row that doesn't move.

If there are 7-8 pictures in a folder, it works exactly the way he wants it to.

If there are 9+ pictures, it makes three rows. Add enough pictures and all three rows will scroll - but he wants it to be only one row.

I've searched and searched and can find no setting for the number of rows shown.

Can any body help me??? TIA

I don't think that is possible. The reason it does not scroll when you have few pictures is because it fits in the screen and you can see them, so no need to scroll. Stuff scroll the way they do on phones because of the touch flo technology. I am not sure if that is same thing that is used on the computer touch screens. Basically once the screen has reached its allowed number of items in a row,it automatically makes a new row (kind of like how ms word makes a new line when you reach a certain number of words). I don't think he will be able to have an infinite amount of pictures in row that extends to oblivion. But, I will still dig around and see if maybe there is an app that can do that (kind of like 3d desktop).
Edit: Ok this may not be what he wants per say, but I think it is the best he will get (for free).

Go into a folder with photos in it and select tools> folder
options>in the General Tab select classic folders. In the View Tab
de-select the first box "always show icons. never thumbnails" and
then click apply to all folders. (apply to all folders is optional, if you want that setting to all the other folders, otherwise, do not click it)
Choose a photo and click the little down arrow next to the preview tab, and select Microsoft Picture Manager from the list (you can also click the choose default program tab to set it as the program to always preview the photos)
and then this will launch microsoft picture manager, on the toolbar, you will see three icons by themselves, click the middle one (filmstrip view),and voila, one row of photos, plus he gets a
Double click a photo in a folder and it opens up into a Windows Office
    Picture Manager viewer.

In the tool bar on the upper left there are 3 icons and the middle one
is "filmstrip view" of every photo in that folder.

Very similar to the old filmstrip.
