The Official ImgBurn Website
Imgburn is very good burning software, but I dislike the option for picking the burn speed and when a dvd is in won't list the dvd burn options only

unless of course I have something set up wrong :P

You'll be able to rip most movies with Shrink, but you'll find that many newer titles use encryption methods that it won't support. If/When you find a movie that Shrink won't rip, use Fab, then Shrink (open files on hard drive)

Or you can get the free, non-trial version here: DVDFab HD Decrypter

"DVDFab HD Decrypter is a simple version of DVDFab "DVD to DVD" and DVDFab "Blu-ray to Blu-ray". It copies entire DVD/Blu-ray movie to hard drive, and removes all the DVD protections (CSS, RC, RCE, APS, UOPs and Sony ARccOS) and part of Blu-ray protections (AACS, BD+, RC, UOPS and BD-Live) while copying."

DVDdecryptor can be used to bcak up dvd to HD

and for ripping dvd u can use Megui or AutoGK,

AutoGK is simple and easy but Megui requires some knowledge on encoding, decoding and muxing!!!

DVDdecrypter is quite old and hasn't been updated in ages, and in most cases won't be able to properly decrypt any newer DVD. Even if the file can after that be played correctly, the fact is that you'll probably have a lot of trouble encoding this file into anything. So DVDFab is still the best tool for the job.
MeGUI is quite freaking hard and some encoding speed modes just don't work in Windows7, as well as some very advanced encoding options (I still haven't figured out which ones, exactly, I'm too lazy to go through with the research) and that's exactly why I use Handbrake now. The most important settings are still there and if I don't actually use strong settings on the encoder, the encoding speed is quite fast. Handbrake simply manages the settings much better.

OK so I'm not all settled into 7's burning abilities quite yet. I skipped over Vista for my home build. My typical burn process with XP was an installation of Nero 7 and DvD Shrink.
Now, I'm not endorsing any non-legal activity, let's just say that I'm annoyed with menus and previews. And so I took advantage of Shrinks re-authoring, alot. So Shrink 3.2 runs fine on 7 x64 but it's getting dated and it realy seems pointless without nero. Don't want to create any kind of media directory where the files are split & labled. Feel like a row-boat in the Atlantic, need to find a new routine - software set up that works for me.
